NOTES on REVELATION 1

"for the time is at hand"

Revelation 1:3

King James Version

3 Blessed is he that readeth,

and they that hear the words of this prophecy,

and keep those things which are written therein

for the time is at hand.

When Jesus commands something, you know it's important.

Well, the Lord commanded His apostle, John, to write in a book whatever he saw, and to send the letters to the angels of the seven churches.

Let us look deeply into the LORD's instructions.

Surely, we have missed many things.

The Holy Spirit led me to pay particular attention to many details, so often missed, and maybe even ignored.

But, I live for the details.

The EXACT Scripture verses follows each note.

The Book of Revelation is the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

God gave it to Jesus.

To show to his servants things which must shortly come to pass.

Jesus sent and signified it by His angel, to apostle John.

Revelation 1:1

King James Version

1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ,

which God gave unto him,

to shew unto his servants things

which must shortly come to pass;

and he sent and signified it

by his angel unto his servant John:

The letter is for the seven churches in Asia.

Grace and peace are given from God, and the seven Spirits which are before his throne.

Revelation 1:4

King James Version

4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia:

Grace be unto you, and peace,

from him which is,

and which was,

and which is to come;

and from the seven Spirits

which are before his throne;

Grace and peace are also given from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness.

He is the first begotten of the dead.

He is the prince of the kings of the earth.

He loves us.

He washed us from our sins in his own blood.

Revelation 1:5

King James Version

5 And from Jesus Christ,

who is the faithful witness,

and the first begotten of the dead,

and the prince of the kings of the earth.

Unto him that loved us,

and washed us from our sins

in his own blood,

Jesus had made us kings and priests unto God and his Father.

To Jesus is glory and dominion for ever and ever.

Revelation 1:6

King James Version

6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God

and his Father;

to him be glory and dominion

for ever and ever.

Amen.

Jesus will come with the clouds.

Every eye shall see him.

Even those which pierced him.

All kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.

Revelation 1:7

King James Version

7 Behold,

he cometh with clouds;

and every eye shall see him,

and they also which pierced him:

and all kindreds of the earth shall wail

because of him.

Even so,

Amen.

Jesus is the Alpha and Omega.

He is the beginning and the ending.

He is which is, which was, and which is to come.

Jesus is the Almighty.

Revelation 1:8

King James Version

8 I am Alpha and Omega,

the beginning and the ending,

saith the Lord,

which is,

and which was,

and which is to come,

the Almighty.

Apostle John is our brother.

He is our companion in tribulation, in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ..

He was in the isle of Patmos when the Revelation was given.

Revelation 1:9

King James Version

9 I John,

who also am your brother,

 and companion in tribulation,

and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ,

was in the isle that is called Patmos,

for the word of God,

and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

John was in the Spirit on the Lord's day.

He heard a great voice -- as of a trumpet.

Revelation 1:10

King James Version

10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day,

and heard behind me a great voice,

as of a trumpet,

John heard the Lord's great voice saying He is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last.

Whatever he saw, he must write in a book.

He must send it unto the seven churches in Asia:

-- Ephesus

-- Smyrna

-- Pergamos

--Thyatira

-- Sardis

-- Philadelphia

-- Laodicea

Revelation 1:11

unto Ephesus,

and unto Smyrna,

and unto Pergamos,

and unto Thyatira,

and unto Sardis,

and unto Philadelphia,

and unto Laodicea.

one like unto the Son of man,

clothed with a garment down to the foot,

and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

Jesus' head and hair were white like wool, white as snow, and his eyes were as a flame of fire.

His feet were like fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace.

His voice was like the sound of many waters.

Revelation 1:14-15

King James Version

14 His head and his hairs were white like wool,

as white as snow;

and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

15 And his feet like unto fine brass,

as if they burned in a furnace;

and his voice as the sound of many waters.

Jesus had in His right hand seven stars.

Out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword.

The Lord's countenance was as the brightest sun.

16 And he had in his right hand seven stars:

and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword:

and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

But Jesus laid His right hand upon the apostle, commanding he be not afraid.

Jesus is the first and the last.

17 And when I saw him,

I fell at his feet as dead.

He also says He has the keys of hell and of death.
